About This Company
Under the Corporations Act 2001, an AFSL is regulated by ASIC, and section 910B of the same Act sets the trigger for a change of control at the licensee: capacity to cast more than 50% of votes at a general meeting, or holding more than half the issued share capital, whether gained or lost. Notice follows under s.912DA, and ASIC is told within 30 business days after the change occurs. In FY2024-25, ASIC's service charter reports, 76% of AFS licence variation applications were decided within 150 days. New applicants meet no fixed statutory decision deadline. The licence is domestic and does not passport. Dealing on own account, portfolio management and investment advice are among the activities it covers. An active entry in ASIC's Professional Registers lists licence status and conditions.
