At an ownership change, membership sits with the affiliated company, cannot be sold on its own and lapses on dissolution or on exit from the SRO. A new controlling owner is vetted by the SRO against its admission criteria (reputation and AML organisation), not through FINMA, unless the business also has a separate FINMA licence; then FINMA's change-of-control approval is needed as well.
